France
The French national pavilion will be a prominent, innovative structure reflecting, as much in its form and composition as its content, the country’s dynamism and art de vivre.
The Netherlands
The Dutch pavilion, designed by architect/artist John Körmeling, is called ‘Happy Street’. It’s an entire street in the shape of the number eight, an auspicious number in Chinese culture.
Germany
The German Pavilion has been christened “balancity” – a newly coined word signifying a city in balance. Visitors of balancity will embark on a journey through a city of ideas, moving around as they would in a real city through thematic areas representing different urban spaces.
United Kingdom
Britain has chosen a fascinating lit cube design for its national pavilion at the World Expo 2010 Shanghai. The Pavilion of Ideas, designed by Heatherwick Studio, beat five other short-listed designs…
USA
The USA Pavilion's theme at Shanghai Expo 2010 is "Rising to the Challenge." It tells the story of the American spirit of perseverance, innovation, and community-building in a multi-dimensional, hi-tech presentation.
Chile
From an aerial view, the design of the Chile Pavilion resembles an undulating “crystal cup” with irregular wave-like fluctuations. It also conjures an abstract image of ships at sea.
Russia
The pavilion design was built on a 6,000-square-meter plot and features 12 white towers inspired by traditional Russian women's costume.
Japan
Japan will highlight the role of advanced ecological technology in helping humans achieve a more comfortable life and confidence in the future with its huge "breathing organism" pavilion at World Expo 2010.
Australia
The pavilion's bold, sculptural form acknowledges Australia’s ancient landscape while demonstrating in a visually striking way the sophistication of modern urban design in Australia.
